Interviews are unavoidable in everyone’s life. As we all know, an interview is a conversation where questions are asked and answers are given. In common parlance, the word “interview” refers to a one-on-one conversation with one person acting in the role of the interviewer (asking questions) and the other in the role of the interviewee (responding to the questions).

Interviews usually involve a transfer of information from interviewee to interviewer, which is usually the primary purpose of the interview, although information transfers can happen in both directions simultaneously.

The event hosted by Chennai’s renowned blogger Kiruba Shankar kicked off with a fun quiz on the topic of interview, jobs etc. Also a short video about the company that showed their ideas, aim, and about the CEO followed.

Mr. Pichumani Durairaj, CEO of InterviewDesk started his speech speaking about his career, and introduced Interview Desk.

He mentioned that he was always been passionate about helping people, be it people, who want the right break in their lives or companies who want to hire the right candidates that fit their requirements.  This passion made him to pick up HR as his prime area of specialization.

Mrs. LathaPandiyarajan, MD of Varam Capital and Co-Founder of Ma Foi continued after Mr.Pichumani. Mrs. LathaPandiyarajan being a grand old player in the HR industry,  She spoke about her journey in the HR industry, shared her experiences and barricades she came across as a Co-Founder of Ma Foi Management Consultants P Ltd in early 90’s.


Mr. Manikandan, Director of Engineering, Amazon. Amazon Fire Stick, Echo Dot, Fire Tablet are few of his brain child’s. Mr. Manikandan shared his experiences and difficulties in hiring resources.

Manikandan was followed by a panel discussion between the chief motivators of the company.

Mr.KumarVembu, CEO & Founder of GoFrugal Technologies , an innovative point of sale solution for all retail shops and restaurant businesses, and has over 25,000 active clients. He scaled this venture from scratch again without any external funding.

Mr.Bhupesh Nagarajan is a civil engineering graduate, now a full time Techno commercial personality leading three verticals of businesses. His Company Indira Astron drive which involved in Manufacturing of parts and accessories for motor vehicles is official partnered and incubated in IIT madras incubation cell yesterday.

Mr. ArasuShanker, CEO,– women’s fashion clothing company with a fashion personality and identity of its own.

Mr. Lokesh Kanagaraj, Film Director with a mixed career graph- Graduated in fashion technology, did MBA and was a bank employee for four-and-a-half years until he got an opportunity to direct short films.

My Take: 

Interview Desk is truly a HR 2.0 initiative. Kuduos, to the founder Mr.Pichumani Durairaj for this novice product. Interview Desk is not only for job seekers but also for HR professionals who has interviewing as their passion. One can also get paid for interviewing and build a brand for yourself. Thus, Interview Desk acts as a platform for both the Interviewer and the interviewee. My best wishes!
